Ireti Foundation

The mission of Ireti is to enhance the quality of life for Nigerian women and their families. We strive to enlighten these women by providing services and educating them on the importance of being healthy. By empowering our women to do better for themselves, and care for their families in the process, we have assured ourselves a brighter and healthier tomorrow.

The Beginning by Dr. Temi Aregbesola-Okere, Founder/CEO

IRETI. It is the most beautiful and simple word that brings light into darkness. It is not just wishful thinking, but an earnest expectation. It is a word in the Yoruba dialect in Nigeria that simply means HOPE. Hope for a better day. Hope for a better man-kind. Hope for another day in one’s God-given life.
Ireti was a figment of my imagination until travelling to Nigeria in December of 2008. Nigeria is beautiful. "Ko si bi to le da bi ile". There is no place like home. The love for my culture and country were planted from a young age and was nurtured by parents and extended family. Upon seeing the current condition of MY country, and the lack of services for our lower income families (which are most of the population), my heart told me at that very moment that I will have to do something special in my lifetime to give back to MY country. And so came Ireti; Hope. Join us as we take this journey of hope giving to the women and children in Nigeria!
